You will likely, if you haven't already, seen social media stories about your risk for catching or suffering more from Covid-19 if you vape or smoke. These stories are all based on supposition from various doctors and not based on research. However, Konstantinos Farsalinos an Italian cardiologist provided this article, https://www.qeios.com/read/article/561 , concerning this very subject. Basically he shows that there is No Evidence either way for vaping. The best research indicates that people with underlying medical problems definitely are more at risk. High blood pressure, obesity, and lung problems are the most prevalent reported but others exist. So, protect yourself with a mask when going out in public places. Liberal hand washing or use of hand sanitizers.
At South Tampa Vape, we have reconfigured our store to limit the chances of transmission of virus's and other harmful particles. We have hand cleaners available, a partition for check out and limited to three people in the store. We have hand sanitizer available right now for purchase in 2 oz or 4 oz sizes with more on the way. We are limiting to three customers in the store at a time until the crisis has abated.
Please do not go back to cigarettes we will mail or deliver (close by) if you can't get to our store.
Hello Vape Fam,
We at South Tampa Vape are glad to still be in business and serving our wonderful customers. We are dismayed for our 18-20 year old customers, especially the active duty friends that we have developed. The congress in their infinite wisdom decided to attach the T-21 to an appropriations bill so we didn't have time to argue for graduated or military exemptions. So, your congressman and senators deserve a call.
Based on recent guidance from the FDA Pre-filled pods (Juno) that are flavored, other than Menthol or Tobacco, will be a target of enforcement effective February 1, 2020. So users of these products will have to switch to an alternative method of nicotine delivery.
The guidance from the FDA released on January 2, 2020 did not address the forthcoming court imposed deadline of May 10, 2020 for ENDS (Electronic Nicotine Delivery System). Based on a law suit by the American Association of Pediatrics against the FDA a judge ruled that the FDA must impose their Deeming Regulations on manufacturers, distributors, and retailers by May 10, 2020. This means that all regulated products must have submitted their application (including all research) and the application has to be accepted. The American Vaping Association (https://vaping.org/) is leading the fight in this matter. We are currently trying to determine which juice manufacturers are up to date on this matter, but, a lot are saying "We are good" but will not provide verifiable details. As we determine which brands will be around we will update our inventory and clearance the ones who won't be around.
The CDC has finally, yes, finally just last week updated their press release on the EVALI (Electronic Cigarette or Vaping Product Use Associated Lung Injury) Problem. They have finally determined that THC Vaping products are the primary cause and they have revised their warning to reflect that. It is our opinion that this was an abomination from the beginning. We told them 13 years of vaping never revealed any type of lung injuries why would it start now.
In Florida there are 7 bills filed in the Senate and House. Please go to @flsmokefree for the Florida Smoke Free Association on Facebook and twitter for "Calls for Action". We will re-post on our Facebook page as well. There are several filed that include Flavor Bans and one the suggest a 60% wholesale tax. The FSFA Legislative team will be at the committee hearings starting tomorrow to advocate on our behalf.
Thank you for your time and support @southtampavape.
What The FDA Has to Say
